Academic Departments

academic department The University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine is comprised of four sectors (Basic Science, Clinical Science, Rehabilitation Sciences and Community Health) based in 27 departments/institutes (including 15 graduate departments) and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health.

In addition, Medicine’s 15 inter-disciplinary Centres and Institutes/extra-departmental units (EDUs) integrate strategic directions across the Toronto Academic Health Science Network (TAHSN) and cognate UofT Faculties.

Our clinical departments provide a wide-range of innovative educational programs to our learners (along the continuum of medical education, including undergraduate, postgraduate, fellowship, continuing education and faculty development programs), recruit leading academics, educators and researchers, and conduct cutting-edge, inter and cross-disciplinary research. Further information on each of the clinical departments can be found on their respective websites.
