The Centre for Faculty Development
The Centre for Faculty Development is a partnership between the University of Toronto and St. Michael’s Hospital. The CFD is committed to enhancing the academic development of faculty in the Faculties of Medicine and the Health Science Faculties at UofT through innovation, capacity building and scholarship in the design, implementation and evaluation of faculty development.
Programming and activities are aimed at any individual or group who has a role relating to teaching, education, leadership and academic work in their healthcare organization or setting. Locally, we offer programs at our central St. Michael’s location and also work collaboratively with groups and sites to provide programs across the greater Toronto area and province.
Programs and activities include Best Practice in Education Rounds, a faculty development workshop series, 2 certificate programs: the Stepping Stones Teacher Development Program, the Core Foundations in Education Research Program; and the Education Scholars Program. There are also two new initiatives, the Accessible Resource for Teaching (ART) online learning tool and the New and Emerging Academic Leaders (NEAL) Program.
